Dakin
WAYCROSS — Mrs. Yvona “Von” Frances Dakin, 88, passed away Sunday evening, July 26, 2026, at her residence in Waycross after an extended illness.
She was born April 10, 1938, in Waycross to the late William “Bud” Milton and Charl otte Capps Milton. Mrs. Dakin graduated from Hoboken High School, and she was a member of New Hope Advent Christian Church.
She retired from Flanders Provision as a supervisor after more than 40 years. Mrs. Dakin enjoyed entertaining and cooking, especially baking, for holidays and family gatherings.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth “Kenny” Nelson Dakin; and her son, Rodney Morgan Dakin.
Survivors include two sons, Kenneth “Ken” Nelson Dakin, Jr. (Tracy) of Kissimmee, Fla., and Darrell Dakin of Waycross; two grandchildren, Aaron Dakin of Waycross, and Christian Dakin (girlfriend Asuna Koba) of Tokyo, Japan; two siblings, Edna Mercer (Ralph) and Pete Milton (Winnell); and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.
A funeral service was held August 3 at the Music Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed in Thomas Cemetery.
