Memorial Satilla Health recently welcomed two new residents in the family medicine residency program this week and announced its partnership with McKinney Medical Center in Waycross as the clinic site for the program.
Dr. Zachary Parker will serve as the program’s site director at McKinney.
Daniel Amador, M.D. and Carlos Ojeda, M.D. will complete two years of their three-year residency in Waycross. The residents come to Memorial Satilla after finishing their initial training year at Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah.
They join fellow residents Eric S Belcher, M.D., Laura Henein, D.O., and Breveenn Kukan, M.D. who are now in their third year of residency at Memorial Satilla.
“We’re proud to welcome our new family medicine residents and Dr. Parker as our new resicine dency site director,” said MSH Chief Executive Officer Damon Barrett. “These resident doctors will help us strengthen access to compassionate, patient- centered care in our community,” Dr. Parker joins the residency program and McKinney from Yakima, Wash., where he completed his medical degree at Pacific Northwest University and family medicine residency at Central Washington Family Medicine. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in biology from Central Washington University.
Inspired by his mother, who worked as a nurse, Dr. Parker pursued medi- with a passion for serving others and quickly discovered that family medicine offered the opportunity to care for patients across every stage of life, from children and pregnant women to adults and seniors.
After meeting his wife, Morgan, who is originally from Brantley County, Parker developed a connection to the region through frequent visits to her extended family. The couple recently relocated to Blackshear with their two young children.
As the new site director for the Family Medicine Residency Program, Parker will provide patient care while helping expand graduate medical education at McKinney.
Parker assumes the position after the leadership of Dr. Brent Waters. He served as site director since 2018, hosting residents at his family practice in Blackshear.
The program was established in 1998.
