WAYCROSS — Mrs. Yvona “Von” Frances Dakin, 88, passed away Sunday evening, July 26, 2026 at her residence in Waycross after an extended

illness.

Mrs. Dakin was born April 10, 1938 in Waycross to the late William “Bud” Milton and Charlotte Capps Milton. She graduated from Hoboken High School. Mrs. Dakin was a member of New Hope Advent Christian Church.
She retired from Flanders Provision as a supervisor after over 40 years. Mrs. Dakin enjoyed entertaining and cooking, especially baking, for holidays and family gatherings.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Dakin was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth “Kenny” Nelson Dakin; a son, Rodney Morgan Dakin; and siblings, Ed Rowland, Mae Moody and Ann Miller.
Survivors include two sons, Kenneth “Ken” Nelson Dakin, Jr. (Tracy) of Kissimmee, Fla., and Darrell Dakin of Waycross; two grandchildren, Aaron Dakin of Waycross and Digital Director of Tokyo Weekly, Christian Dakin (Asuna Koba) of Tokyo, Japan; two siblings, Edna Mercer and Pete Milton; and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.
A funeral service was held Monday, August 3, 2026 at the Music Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial followed in Thomas Cemetery.
