The Local Chapter Annual Business Report of the Ware County High School’s Future Business Leaders of America was awarded a national championship earlier this month.
The students representing WCHS at the national conference that concluded July 2 in San Antonio, Texas, were honored last week at the monthly meeting of the Ware County Board of Education.
WCHS was represented by Juan Manabat, Matthew Davis and Kevin Lin in the Local Chapter Annual Business Report division.
“We’re proud to recognize Juan Manabat, Matthew Davis and Kevin Lin for their outstanding accomplishments,” said Career, Technical, and Agricultural Education Director Dr. Kim Callahan during the July 21 meeting. “They represented our school and community with excellence at the FBLA National Leadership Conference.
“Their national championship reflects exceptional teamwork, leadership, professionalism and dedication. This outstanding achievement highlights the quality of our Career and Technical Education programs and brings national recognition to Ware County.
The FBLA chapter also placed in the Top 10 in the nation in Sales Presentation.
“Congratulations to Maleah Malabanan and Santiago Cochon,” Dr. Callahan said. “They demonstrated outstanding communication, professionalism and business skills earning a place among the Top 10 competitors in the nation. Their achievement is a testament to their hard work and commitment to excellence.”
The chapter also received High School Champion Chapter Gold, Champion Plus recognition, and celebrated three students completing the prestigious FBLA Capstone Award program, the director said. Dr. Callahan said the accomplishments represent a historic achievement for Ware County.
Dr. Callahan praised FBLA Sponsor Lauren Carter, who was unable to attend the meeting. She acknowledged the accomplishments wouldn’t have been possible without Carter’s guidance and dedication to mentoring students, fostering leadership, and preparing them for competition.
