Batten
ROCHELLE, Ga. — Mr. Gerald “Waldo” Batten, 89, died Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at his daughter's residence in Rochelle, Ga.
He was born May 30, 1937 in Pierce County to the late Wilbur Batten and Thelma Lee Batten. Batt e n worked as a carpenter for most of his life and was a member of Youmans Chapel Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Iris Vivian Owens Batten; a granddaughter, Charlene Dillinger; and two siblings, Travis L. Batten (late Sharon) and Evonne Tippins (late Morris).
He is survived by his two daughters, Vivian “Teresa” Lee (late Darrell) of Blackshear and Diana Stephens (Jerry) of Rochelle; 11 grandchildren; numerous great and great-great grandchildren; a sister, Phillis Mock (late J.W.) of Blackshear; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
A funeral service was held July 25 at Youmans Chapel Baptist Church. Burial followed in Enon Cemetery.
