WAYCROSS — Mrs. Vickie Diane Sandberg, 79, formerly of Crystal River, Fla., died Friday afternoon, July 24, 2026, at her daughter’s residence in Waycross after a brief illness.
She was born in Hickory, N.C., on August 29, 1946, and made Crystal River her home for much of her life before moving to Waycross to live with her daughter in June of 2026.
Mrs. Sandberg worked as a truck driver for Warner Trucking and enjoyed golf and fishing. More than anything, she will be remembered as a loving and dedicated mother, who cherished any moment she was able to spend with her children and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Polly Sigmon; one brother, Greg Prince, and one sister, Jennifer Keppner.
Mrs. Sandberg is survived by four children, Teresa Tippins of Blackshear, Tammy Hendrix and her husband, Robby, of Waycross, Rhonda Jackson and her husband, Cornell, of Crystal River, and Richard “Pete” Fulton and his wife, Tina, of Marianna, Fla.; 14 grandchildren, Van Crews, Reva Turner and her husband, Jeff, Jonathan Fulton, Sheena Rhone, Maven Crawford, Sarah Fulton, Chance Tanner, Faith Perrott and her husband, Andrew, Laci Fulton, Kahne Fulton, Corey Hendrix, A.J. Hendrix, Bailey Hendrix, John Tippins; 23 great grandchildren; a greatgreat grandchild; one sister, Lelia Wright of Dunnellon, Fla.; as well as numerous other relatives.
The family will hold a memorial service at a later date.
