Saturday’s annual “Taste of Brantley” featured contestants competing in categories of pies and cobblers (Category 1), desserts (Category 2), along with jelly, jams and sauces (Category 3). Samantha Thornton’s entree of “No Bake Blueberry Cheesecake” captured first place in Category 1. Sandy Lee’s “Blue-Lemon Berry Bake” placed second. Thornton also captured top honors in Category 2 with her “Blueberry Sopapilla” entree. Emersyn Payne was second with her “Mini Blueberry Pop-Tarts” entree. Donna Tomlinson placed third with her “Rustic Lemon Blueberry Cake”. Jackie Collins was the winner of Category 3 with her “Satilla Blues Chocolate Sauce with a Kick” entree. Caitlyn Parker was the runner-up with her “Blueberry Peach Jalapeno Jam”. Judges for the event were Marla Howell, Lea-King Badyna and Christy Thurston.
