The quarterly meeting of the Altamaha Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution will take place noon, Saturday, August 15, at Captain Joe’s Restaurant, 2686 Savannah Highway, Jesup.
A genealogy workshop will be held following the meeting. Potential members are invited to attend. Applications will be available and SAR members will assist potential members with genealogy research.
The Altamaha Chapter SAR is based in Jesup and serves the counties along the Altamaha River basin. Membership is open to Pierce County residents.
The Sons of the American Revolution (SAR) is a patriotic and fraternal organization dedicated to maintaining and extending the institutions of American freedom, an appreciation for true patriotism, a respect for our national symbols, the value of American citizenship. The SAR is a men’s organization whose membership is comprised of descendants of Revolutionary war soldiers and those who helped the war effort.
