Pierce County’s school breakfast prices will be increasing, but students won’t be affected.
School nutrition director Becky Swain announced the cost to staff and visitors would increase by a quarter each this school year.
Staff members will now pay $2.50 for breakfasts at all schools. Visitors will pay $3 at all three schools.
All students receive free breakfast and lunch under the federal community eligibility program (CEP). The system is currently in the third year of a four year program.
