Luke Morgan loves soccer and playing with the Okefenokee Miracle League and now he is hoping the community will help him reach a different goal.
The nine year old Morgan has been diagnosed with CASK-Related Disorder and is currently raising funds to attend the CASK Convention this November.
CASK is a rare, genetic condition that affects brain development and can cause developmental delays, speech and communication challenges, seizures, behavioral and cognitive differences and Autism-like symptoms.
Fewer than 1 in 1 million are affected and research into the condition is limited.
“We are raising funds to help Luke attend the convention,” said Morgan’s grandmother, Diane Morgan.
The convention will help Luke and his family connect with leading doctors, experts, researchers and other families who are walking the same path with the condition.
“We hope to learn, share and bring back hope, resources and strategies that will help Luke thrive every day,” said Morgan.
The convention will take place in Houston, Texas.
The family will need approximately $4,000 to cover travel, lodging, registration and meals and other incidentals to attend the conference.

Ms. Morgan says her grandson is strong, smart and full of potential, but needs help in taking the next step in the journey with his condition.
In addition to sports, young Morgan recently attended Lighthouse Christian Academy but will be homeschooled this coming year.
His parents are Coty Morgan and Jennifer Warnell.
