ST. SIMONS ISLAND — Mrs. Carol Ann Bell, 80, died Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at Heritage Oaks Health (formerly Magnolia Manor) on St. Simons Island following an extended illness.
She was born in Blackshear to the late Wade
Bell
Wolford and Vera Leona Batten Wolford. Early in life, she worked at the King Edward Cigar Factory before retiring as Vice President of Operations with Atlantic Coast Federal Credit Union in Waycross. She most recently was a member of Bay Harbor Church of God and had previously attended Grace Chapel before moving to Brunswick. She was also was a member of the Ware County Exchange Club.
She is survived by her husband, Kelly Bell, of Brunswick; two children, Kelly Ann McQuaig (Joey, Jr.) of Blackshear and Susan Thomason (Jason) of Winston-Salem, N.C.; five grandchildren, Harrison Cleve McQuaig, Caroline Isabelle Quirk (William Wade), Sarah Grace Thomason, Kelly Elizabeth White Thomason, and William Joseph Kelly McQuaig; one great grandson, Cleve Winston Quirk; three siblings, Vera Little (Marshall), Wade Wolford (Linda), and Madge Womack (Paul); and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service was held at 11 a.m. July 18 at the Music Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery.
