Waycross Mayor Michael-Angelo James was included in the July 2026 Atlanta regional edition of Time Magazine, the Marquis Who’s Who organization said in a news release.
The organization that annually recognizes the nation’s top leaders in a variety of fields, said it was “proud to share that Dr. Michael-Angelo James, Mayor of Waycross, was named in the July 2026 Atlanta regional edition of TIME magazine. It is truly an honor for both Mayor James and the City of Waycross.”
According to the Marquis Who’s Who, the inclusion of Dr. James in TIME magazine was based on the outstanding professional career, long years of service, significant accomplishments within his profession, and high level of merit as an educator and civic and religious leader.
Marquis Who’s Who, of which Mayor James is an honoree, was proud to recognize him among its most prominent listees.
In addition to being Mayor of Waycross, Dr. James is a Professor of Sociology and Job Acquisition Skills at Coastal Pines Technical College, and longtime Pastor of Emmanuel’s International Cathedral of the Holy Spirit.
“The honor speaks to the commitment, leadership, and service Mayor James continues to exhibit while serving the City of Waycross,” Marquis Who’s Who said. “His involvement in civic affairs, education, and regional development is consistent with the values of excellence and advancement our city embraces.”
