Everette Dwight Moody, Jr.

MONTGOMERY, Ala. — In loving memory of Everette Dwight Moody, Jr., who passed away at Jackson Hospital in Montgomery, Ala., Sunday, July 12, 2026 at the age of 75.

Moody was born November 28, 1954 in Jesup to the late Everette and Evelyn Perkins Moody. He spent his childhood in Brantley County before moving to Jekyll Island in adolescence.

A graduate of Glynn Academy High School and West Georgia College with a B.B.A. degree, Moody moved to Montgomery, Alabama in 1981.

A former lifeguard and firefighter, he found deep fulfillment in having saved several lives. Beyond his professional pursuits in several fields, Moody embraced life with enthusiasm and brought joy to others with his quick wit.

He was an avid golfer, a passion he pursued throughout his life. A

warm-hearted, loyal, and caring friend, Moody will be greatly missed as a devoted partner to Arrol Sheehan and by his family.

Moody was preceded in death by his parents and his brother-in-law, Ray Phillips.

He is survived by his beloved sister, Carolyn L. Phillips; his nephew, Adam Phillips; his greatnephew, Andrew Phillips; his great-niece, Taylor Phillips; and many other family members and a host of friends.

A graveside service was held Tuesday, July 21, 2026 at Satilla Cemetery with Bishop Rob Hutto officiating.

Arrangements were with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
