WAYCROSS — Patrick Henry Morris, 87, of Waycross died Friday afternoon, July 17, 2026 at the Hospice Satilla Hospice House after an extended illness.
Morris was born at home in Kirkland, Ga., to the late Thomas Dan Morris and Mary O’Brien Morris. He made Ware County his home since 1972, living with his family in Manor for 38 years.
Morris served his country as a 1st Lieutenant Intelligence Officer in the United States Army. He earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from Georgia Southern University.
Morris worked for the Federal Government for 42 years, serving as District Manager for the Social Security Administration. He earned the Commissioners Citation, which is the highest honor bestowed upon someone in the Social Security Administration.
Morris was an active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, where he served on the Building, Finance and Parish Council. He was honored by the Diocese of Savannah as recipient of the Gartland Award.
Morris joined the Waycross Lions Club in 1972, where he served as Presi-

dent from 1976-1977. He also served 20 years as President/CEO of the Manor Water Association.
He enjoyed spending his weekends farming at his home in Manor.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Ed Morris and O’Brien Morris.
Morris is survived by his wife, Lillie N. Morris of Waycross; three sons, Daniel G. Morris and his wife Laura of Waycross, Joseph P. Morris and his wife Katie of Waycross, Thomas D. Morris of Waycross; five grandchildren, Michael A. Morris and his wife Hosanna of Blackshear, Mattie Morris of Oglethorpe, Ga., Chase Morris and his wife Elissa of Phoenix City, Alabama, Lexie Williams of Nahunta, Logan Johnson of Brunswick; one great grandchild, Braddock Jacobs; one brother, D.B. Morris and his wife Mary Lou of Pearson; one sisterin- law, Jayne Rivers Morris of Dublin, Ga.; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
A Mass of the Resurrection to celebrate the life of Patrick Henry Morris will be held today (Wednesday, July 22, 2026) at St. Joseph Catholic Church beginning at 11 a.m.
The family will receive friends at the church Wednesday beginning at 9:30 a.m.
A private family burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery.
