Swamp Road at Gum Swamp Creek Bridge south of Waycross will be closed to through traffic approximately six months, the Georgia Department of Transportation announced last week.
Closure of the span started Monday, July 13 and likely is expected to continue into December and possibly beyond. The work is part of a bridge replacement project that will affect local travel for residents in the southern part of Ware County.
The GDOT’s contractor, see BRIDGE, Page ?A Underground Excavating, Inc., of Patterson has prepared and will maintain a detour around the closure.
