The 22nd annual Walter A. Sr. and Earnestine Lewis Myles Honor Day will be held at noon Saturday, August 1 at the City of Pearson Sports Complex and Civic Center, 786 Austin Avenue E.
A scholarship fund in memory of Walter and Earnestine Myles has been established. During the annual program, a number of scholarships are awarded to deserving students to help them further their education. Recipients of the scholarship and honorees of the souvenir booklet will be recognized during the honor day event.
The Myles were educators in Appling, Atkinson, Bacon, Coffee, Long, Pierce, Ware and Wayne counties. Each year the honor day event rotates to a community where the educators taught.
