Memorial Satilla Health celebrated the largest new graduate Registered Nurse group in the hospital's history, welcoming 25 new RNs during a special Nurse Signing Day ceremony earlier this month.

The event recognized the newest members of the hospital’s nursing team as they officially begin their careers through HCA Healthcare's nationally recognized nurse residency program. Family members, hospital leaders, and clinical teams gathered to celebrate the milestone and welcome the nurses into the organization.

“This is an exciting day not only for our hospital, but for the future of healthcare in our region,” said MSH Chief Executive Officer Damon Barrett. “These 25 nurses represent the next generation of caregivers who will help us fulfill our mission of improving more lives in more ways. Their decision to begin their careers here strengthens our workforce, supports our local economy, and ensures our community continues to have access to exceptional nursing care.”

As the demand for healthcare professionals continues to grow, recruiting and developing local talent remains a strategic priority for Memorial Satilla. By investing in new graduate nurses, the hospital is expanding career opportunities while strengthening the clinical workforce that serves patients throughout Southeast Georgia.

The new nurses will participate in HCA Healthcare’s evidencebased Nurse Residency Program, which provides mentorship, education, and hands-on clinical experience to support a successful transition from nursing school to professional practice.

The program is designed to build confidence, strengthen clinical decision- making, and foster excellence in patient care.

“Our nurses are at the heart of everything we do,” said Jen Weaver, Chief Nursing Officer. “Our Signing Day celebrates more than new careers. It represents our commitment to developing exceptional caregivers who deliver compassionate, high-quality care and improve the lives of every patient they serve.”

The addition of 25 registered nurses marks an important investment in both healthcare access and the local workforce.

Among the region’s largest employers, MSH continues to create meaningful career opportunities while supporting the long-term health and economic vitality of the communities it serves.
