Action pact board to meet July 20
The executive board of action pact will meet 10 a.m. Monday, July 20, at “Sarah’s in the City” Restaurant, 1686 Golden Isles West, Baxley.
Action pact is a non-profit community action agency dedicated to improving lives and communities.

Former NFL star to host FREE training camp July 21 Former Georgia Southern Eagle and Chicago Bears football player Adrian Peterson will host a training camp for Pierce County youngsters Tuesday, July 21, at Tiger Field in Blackshear. The event is free and will be held from 5:30-7 p.m.
The program is co-ed and is open to ages 7-17.
Peterson will lead the participants in intensive training focused on speed, strength, agility and conditioning.

Seniors Farmers Market to be held July 31 A senior farmers market event will take place 11:30 a.m. 3 p.m. Friday, July 31 at the Pierce County Senior Center located at 713 Hendry Street in Blackshear.
The event is open to the public. Applicants 55-59 years old qualify if they live in senior housing. All other applicants must be 60 or older and all applicants must meet certain income guidelines.
Qualifying seniors will receive $30 worth of produce. Walk ins will be welcome as long as the bags last.
