Georgia Tech
Arthur Riechert of Patterson, has earned a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta.
Riechert was among 7,129 undergraduate and graduate students to be presented Georgia Tech degrees during the Institute's 270th Commencement exercises May 7 - 9, at McCamish Pavilion (Ph.D. and bachelor’s) and Bobby Dodd Stadium (master’s).
Two Pierce County residents also made the dean’s list at the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta for Spring 2026.
They are James Berglund and Marli Walker, both of Blackshear.
This designation is awarded to undergraduate students who have earned a 3.0 or higher academic average for the semester.
Georgia Southern University Georgia Southern University in Statesboro recently announced its acadmic honors for spring, 2026.
Students named to the president’s list include: Dylan Figueroa, Joseph Rentz, Britton Larson, Kalan Mills, Joshua Roberts, Jonathan Robertson, Kaley Robins, Joshua Thrift and Lauren Wildes, all of Blackshear; Natalee Griffin, Abby Tyo and Rebecca Tyre of Patterson; and Samuel Landivar of Bristol.
To be eligible for the president's list, a student must have at least a 4.0 grade point average and carry a minimum of 12 hours for the semester.
Students named to the dean’s list include: Regan Boatright, Mikal Chancey, Holly Henderson, Zoie Hendry, Gregory Higginson, Reagan Larson, Amelia Miller, Taylor Milligan and Harley White , all of Blackshear; Mikell Bond and Cadence Raulerson of Patterson; and Mary Tomberlin of Bristol.
To be eligible for the dean's list, a student must have at least a 3.5 grade point average and carry a minimum of 12 hours for the semester.
University of Mississippi
Truett Sergent of Blackshear was named to the University of Mississippi's Spring 2026 Honor Roll lists.
Sergent, in the B.A. in Biological Science program, was named to the Chancellor's Honor Roll, which is reserved for students who earn a semester GPA of 3.75-4.0.
To be eligible for honor roll designation, a student must have completed at least 12 graded hours for the semester and may not be on academic probation during the semester.
