Fire hydrant art: Mayor Dedi Thomas and City Clerk Laura Kate Dixon announced Patterson’s fire hydrants are being painted as part of an art project.
Department reports: Fire Chief/Public Works superintendent Stokes reported the city passed inspection by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) at its water treatment plant. He reported public works has been working hard to keep up with grass mowing on city right of ways and cleaning up sidewalks. He also reported trees were removed at the tennis courts. Stokes said the fire department responded to eight fire calls, two medical calls and three traffic related calls during June. He also reported his department conducted four training events for a total of eight hours of accredited training. Police Chief Nick Strickland reported his department responded to a total of 20 calls in June including six traffic stops and three citations. Councilman Ray Douberly asked about missing stop signs in the city and Chief Nick Strickland said replacement signs have been ordered for those areas that are missing. City Clerk Laura Kate Dixon had nothing to report.
