Paul Jackson Hickox

Paul Jackson Hickox, 90, of Hoboken, died Wednesday evening, July 8, 2026, at the Hospice Satilla Hospice House after an extended illness. He was born in Blackshear to the late Henry Harley Hickox and Hazel Ephran Sheppard Hickox and made Hoboken his home since 1996. He served his country faithfully in the United States Army where he retired after committing over 20 years of service in the communications and intelligence fields. After his service he started a second career with Southeast Toyota and retired in 1994 as a distribution manager. He was a man of hard work that spent lots of time in his shop woodworking, computer work and researching genealogy. He loved to fish and tell stories.

 In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Kathryn Myers Hickox; a daughter, Paula Sue Nicely; a grandson, Ricardo James Delgado and a brother, Herbert Harley Hickox.

Survivors include his wife Linda Hickox, Hoboken; two daughters, Tamra Magdefrau, husband Christian and Kimberly Rydel, husband Jeffery, both of Middleburg, Florida; two step-sons, Edward Dickerson, fiancé Rhonda, Hoboken, Chris Dickerson, wife Vivian, Blackshear; two grandchildren, Melissa Delgado and Jamie Nicely; two step-grandchildren; Jarrett Dickerson and Hannah Dickerson; many great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Monday, July 13, at the funeral home. 

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 13, from the Miles-Odum Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Andy Hickox officiating. 

Interment will follow in St. Johns Church Cemetery near Blackshear.
