Helen Louise Burroughs, 67, of Waycross, passed away Friday, June 26, 2026, at UF Health in Jacksonville.
Born in West Cornwall, CT December 30, 1958, she lived in Vermont prior to moving to Ware County 11 years ago. She was a homemaker. She had enjoyed riding motorcycles in her younger days and being an animal lover, was always helping when she could with animal rescues. She loved to cook and bake and read her Bible. A very friendly person, she loved talking to people and giving encouragement to those who needed it.
She was a daughter of the late Bruce and Helen Temple Rutland Burroughs. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Wright.
Survivors include a sister, Lucy Taylforth, Cumbria, UK; a nephew, Richard Rogers, Decatur, TN; her dear friends, Donna and Bart Bunkley, Brantley County and several other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held from 4-6 p.m. Friday, July 17, at the funeral home.
A small gathering will be held at her home, 610 Hertson Dr., Waycross, immediately following.
Memorialization is by cremation.
