Ware properties offered in tax sale Aug. 4

Nearly 200 properties in Waycross and Ware County with a delinquent tax liability are being offered for sale by Ware County Tax Commissioner Roger Collins.

The sale will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Tuesday, August 4 in Suite 201 of the Ware County Administration Building, 305 Oak Street. A list of the available parcels appears on pages 1B-7B in today’s edition of the Waycross Journal-Herald.

The listing, which currently has 196 parcels, will be in the newspaper weekly until the sale, minus any parcels whose liability has been satisfied. The properties available at the start of the sale range in size from .06 to 62 acres.

Cash, cashier’s check or money order is required for payment on the sale of any property.

According to the stipulations accompanying the list of available properties of the sale, all are sold “as is.” There is no warranty either expressed nor implied, as to title, and all properties are subject to all recorded covenants, easements, and right of ways.

All bidders will be required to present a valid state issued method of identification. Properties are sold under the power of a tax sale deed with specific rights of redemption. Purchasers pay for title, transfer cost, taxes, advertising and recording fees. Payment is required within an hour of completion of the sale August 4.

Current property owners have until 9:30 a.m., August 4 to satisfy the tax liability and have the parcel removed from the sale.
