MSH has classes for child birth Memorial Satilla Health has scheduled bi-monthly maternity classes and monthly tours of its Birthing Center.
Tours and classes are held from 5 to 7 p.m. in the MSH Birthing Center Conference Room, 1900 Tebeau Street. Those interested can register at memorialsatillahealth.co m/calendar.
Classes will be held July 20, September 21 and November 16. Birthing Center Tours remaining are July 10, August 9, September 6, October 12, November 10 and December 11.
Class topics will include breastfeeding, Cesarean sections (C-sections), diet and exercise, preparing for labor and delivery, relaxation techniques and vaginal deliveries.
Satilla cleanup nets 700 pounds Approximately 700 pounds of debris was collected and removed from the Satilla River area last month during a volunteer effort to help protect the watershed.
Satilla Riverkeeper Shannon Gregory was host for the riverwide cleanup that brought together volunteers from across the watershed.
Participants worked along multiple access points and stretches of the river to remove litter and debris from the riverbanks and surrounding areas preventing it from further impacting water quality and wildlife habitat. Items ranged from everyday litter to larger debris, highlighting the importance of ongoing community stewardship and responsible waste disposal.
Vets info forum scheduled Oct. 30 Amvets Post 1857 and the Georgia Department of Veterans Services holds a free information session for veterans from 9 a.m. to noon, Friday, October 30 at the NFC Gym, 705 College Avenue, Blackshear.
Topics discussed will be disability ratings, understanding secondary conditions, VA and Medicare coordination, spousal benefits, and VA community care eligibility among others.

WCHS Class of ’76 sets 50th reunion The Ware County High School Class of 1976 has scheduled its 50th reunion October 23-24.
The event is being held in conjunction with the Gators Homecoming game Friday night, October 23 against Jenkins in Memorial Stadium.
Saturday’s activities begin at 10 a.m. in Building No. 1 at Laura S. Walker State Park Lake. There will be a covered dish dinner at 1 p.m. with meat, tea, ice and utensils provided.
