Fraley
WAYCROSS — Betty Manning Fraley, 83, of Waycross died Friday morning, July 3, 2026, after an extended illness.
Mrs. Fraley was born in Blackshear to the late Enoch Manning and Zoie Peacock Manning and made Waycross her home for most of her life. She worked at Georgia Farm Bureau, baked wedding cakes and was an exceptional homemaker and loved spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Fraley was also preceded in death by her husband, James Carswell Fraley; a daughter, Karen Fraley Peace; four sisters, Roxie Riggins, Waunell Sapp, Maudelle Crosby and Jeanette McQuaig; and two brothers, Estes Manning and Charles Manning.
Mrs. Fraley is survived by two daughters, Jamie Segear of St. Marys and Cheryl Johnson and her husband, David, of Jesup; a son-in-law, Bobby Peace of Waycross; five grandchildren, Heather Dickerson and her husband, Brent, John Segear, James Segear, Brandice Johnson and Ethan Johnson; a great grandchild on the way; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. today (Wednesday, July 8) in the Miles-Odum Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery.
