With temperatures nearing 100 degrees in South Georgia, maybe some “ice facts” would help.
Did you know icebergs can be striped, emerald green, black, or blue?
Two thousand years ago, the earth might have been a rather large, frozen ball of ice. Scientists have awakened ancient bacteria (millions of years old) in ice.
Did you know Niagara Falls once froze solid?
Geologists have found an ice cave in Iceland under the Kayla volcano. Icicles on bridges or cliffs can grow to more than 100 feet long!
I feel a little cooler already! Meanwhile, we’ve reached the book of Romans in our reading through the Bible and Paul says, regardless of the heat or your surroundings: “… here’s what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life; your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking- around life; and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him.”
— Romans 12: 1
Maybe you’ve been waiting for the chance to do something important for God? But while you’re waiting try this, smile at everyone.
Say hello to strangers. Thank everyone who serves you during the day and compliment them on their service.
Stop your car to let someone into the flow of traffic. Let someone move ahead of you in the checkout line.
React calmly in tense situations and control your temper, even if you are hot and losing patience by the minute.
“You’ll be changed from the inside out,” and “God will …develop wellformed maturity in you.”
— Romans 12: 2
