Paddlers drift along the Suwannee River within the Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge during a Georgia Rivers adventure earlier this year. The organization is sponsoring two paddle trips in the Okefenokee Swamp area in November as part of its fall weekend adventure program. Registration is currently open for the three events. The first is a Fall Float on the Flint River, October 911 with the two on the Okefenokee, November 6-8 and 20-22. Georgia Rivers also offers a slate of day trips between July and November that provide opportunities to explore and fish the Chattahoochee, Chattooga, Toccoa, Savannah, Chestatee, Flint and Oconee rivers. For information on the opportunities on these state waterways, visit www.garivers.org and find the events tab.
