ODUM — Robert F. Jacobs, 88 of Odum, passed away Tuesday, June 30, 2026 in the Hospice of South Georgia Inpatient Unit.
The Wayne County native was a member and deacon of Red Hill Baptist Church. Jacobs retired from ITT Rayonier after his 37year career.
Horse riding was his life long passion. As a member of the Wayne County Saddle Club, Jacobs loved to trail ride and camp. Another favorite pastime was riding his bicycle all over Georgia with the BRAG Group.
Barbara, his daughterin- law, was his primary caretaker for the past two years. His wife of 67 years, Delores Drury Jacobs preceded him in death, along with his parents, James and Ruby Jacobs.
Survivors are a daughter, Donna (Russell) Auldridge of Odum; two sons, Gary and Molly Jacobs of Hartsfield, Ga., and Jay and Barbara Jacobs of Jesup; nine grandchildren and several great grandchildren; a brother, Travis (Renee) Jacobs of Nahunta.
A funeral services was held Sunday, July 5, 2026 at Red Hill Baptist Church with Pastor Alan Morgan officiating.
Private family interment will follow in the Pinecrest Memorial Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be his family.
Rinehart and Sons Funeral Home of Jesup was in charge of arrangements.
