Mrs. Brenda Brown Smith, 67, passed away Monday, June 29, 2026, at Memorial Satilla Health in Waycross following an extended illness.
Mrs. Smith was born in Clermont, Fla., to the late Junior Brown and Sallie Irene Petty Bish. Early in life, she worked as a cabinet maker before becoming a homemaker. Mrs. Smith enjoyed spending time outdoors and cherished the companionship of her beloved dog, River.
She is survived by two daughters, Nova Bennett (Craig) of Hortense and Ashley Smith of Waycross; seven grandchildren, Ciera Miller (Shawn), Lauren Hedegard (Bailey), Brendan Hedegard (Amber), Camryn Starr (Dallen Bennett), Ryan Starr, Ty Hedegard and Dylan Hedegard; five great grandchildren, Leegon, Hayven, Paxton, Preslynn and Bentley; two sisters, Mavis Kiser of Bushnell, Fla., and Barbara Brown of Blackshear; one brother, Kenneth Brown of Bushnell, Fla.; and her beloved dog, River.
Mrs. Smith’s wishes were to be cremated.
