Erica Walker of Blackshear, an RN praised for her initiative and leadership, was among five Memorial Satilla Health colleagues named as recipients of HCA Healthcare’s Awards of Distinction, recognizing their commitment to patients, colleagues and the Waycross community.
Critical care nurse Walker recieved the Excellence in Nursing Award for Compassionate Care. Walker serves patients as a critical care nurse and supports new nurses as a mentor.
“Erica takes initiative and demonstrates great leadership in advocating for her patients and for the nursing profession,” said Jen Weaver, chief nursing officer at Memorial Satilla Health. “She is a mentor for new nurses and a positive supporter of her coworkers. She reflects the spirit of HCA Healthcare through her daily commitment to the care and improvement of human life.”
The other 2026 Memorial Satilla Health honorees are: Dr. William Clark III, recipient of the Frist Humanitarian Award for physicians, Jamie Gaskins, coordinator of outreach services for the laboratory, recipient of the Frist Humanitarian Award for employees. Teresa Lavender, RN, medical-surgical nurse, recipient of the Excellence in Nursing Award for Professional Mentoring and Beth Rogers, hospital auxiliary member and retired laboratory director, recipient of the Frist Humanitarian Award for volunteers.
