CSX Railroad recently unveiled two custom, modernized CM44AH locomotives—numbered 250 and 2026—to honor the United States’ 250th anniversary this week. Traci Farr Bowers caught the engines as they passed through Offerman about lunchtime Friday. Both engines were painted at the CSX facility in Waycross and will operate across the railroad’s freight network. Each locomotive features a distinct, patriotic design. Unit 250 showcases a bold Stars and Stripes theme to celebrate the anniversary year and Unit 2026: Features the American bald eagle and the phrase “United We Stand”.
