Pierce Rec 10-u girls all stars finish runner-up in division tournament — SYLVANIA — Pierce County’s 10-under girls’ all-star team finished runner-up here in the threeday, double-elimination Class C 10U Pitching machine division tournament ending Thursday, June 25. The Lady Bears opened with a 7-0 victory over District 4 champion Meriwether County before falling 17-4 to District 1 champion Glennville. Pierce County bounced back through the loser's bracket beating District 1 runner-up Reidsville 13-7, District 3 champion Adel/Cook County and District 1 champion and host Screven County 6-3. The Lady Bears lost a 6-5 heartbreaker to Glennville in the championship.
