City to discuss 4th quarter ledger The City of Waycross holds a special meeting at 4 p.m., Tuesday, July 7 in City Hall to present a financial report on the final quarter of the Fiscal Year 2025-26 budget.
The session is open to the public and precedes the city commission’s bimonthly meeting at 5 p.m.
Rec. Dept. holds Senior Dance The Ware County Recreation Department will host a Senior Dance from 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday, July 11 at the Trembling Earth Complex, 2110 Cecil Brown Drive.

City resident gets degree at Bucknell Alison Cooke of Waycross graduated in May with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Bucknell University.
Cooke was among nearly 1,000 to earn degrees from the university in Lewisburg, Pa., at its spring commencement. Bucknell’s student population represents 41 states and 25 countries.
WCHS Class of ’76 sets 50th reunion The Ware County High School Class of 1976 has scheduled its 50th reunion October 23-24.
The event is being held in conjunction with the Gators Homecoming game Friday night, October 23 against Jenkins in Memorial Stadium.
Saturday’s activities begin at 10 a.m. in Building No. 1 at Laura S. Walker State Park Lake. A covered dish dinner will be at 1 p.m. with meat, tea, ice and utensils provided.

Diabetes group alters July session The Talki Foundation’s monthly support group 912 Diabetes Initiative for people with diabetes and their caregivers has changed the date of its next meeting because of the July 4 holiday.
The support group will meet at 11 a.m., July 11 in the Memorial Satilla Health Annex Classroom, 1800 Alice Street. Meetings usually are the first Saturday of each month.
Remaining dates are August 1, September 5, October 3, November 7 and December 5.

Food preservation classes offered
The University of Georgia Extension Office in Ware County will offer a series of food preservation classes monthly through December.
Classes will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesdays, at the Ware County Public Library, 401 Lee Avenue. Classes are $25 each and spots are limited.
