Ware County Farm Bureau Women’s Committee Co-Chairman Mary Alice Aldridge and and WCFB president Victor Aldridge recently presented a copy of the children’s agriculture-themed book “I Love Blueberries” to Erica Stembridge for the Waycross-Ware County Public Library. The donation was made on behalf of the Georgia Foundation for Agriculture, Georgia Farm Bureau and Electric Membership Corporation as part of their annual literacy program that this year will have copies of the book placed in more than 40o facilities in the Georgia Public Library Service. The book, written by Shannon Anderson and illustrated by Jaclyn Sinquett, follows the comical, scrapbook-style journal entries of one central character, Jolie, and the creative sketchbook work of the other, Margot. Readers learn how they create a plan and work together to not only grow blueberries but also develop a new friendship. The American Farm Bureau Foundation for Agriculture selected the work as its 2026 Book of the Year for an accurate and positive portrayal of agriculture. The literacy program began in 2016.
