CSX Transportation is doing emergency repairs this week at the Augusta Avenue railroad crossing in Waycross after identifying track defects last week.
The location is Augusta Avenue between Albany Avenue and Bell Street. Work began Tuesday morning, June 23 and is scheduled to continue through noon Friday, June 26.
It’s a total closure of the area at the crossing with no traffic permitted to cross the tracks while repairs are underway. Motorists are encouraged to plan alternate routes and allow additional travel time during the closure period.
