WAYCROSS — Ronald A. “Ron” Hrabar, 64, of Waycross died Thursday afternoon, June 11, 2026, in Wayne County after an accident.

He was born in Perth Amboy, N.J., to the late Joseph Michael Hrabar and JoAnn Fontanna and gradu ated from Piscataway High School in 1979 going on to attend Rutgers University and made Waycross his home for many years. Hrabar was an entrepreneur and jack-of-all-trades but was most well known by the community as a longtime umpire and little league coach. He poured his heart and soul into many lives at the Ware County Recreation Department, where he could be found either coaching or officiating ball games. His dedication and commitment to countless children in the area in sporting events was the backbone to much success that many went on to accomplish. Ron was one whose voice will echo for years to come, either from the field or the bleachers; he was always one that was trying to motivate or encourage others to play hard and play the game the right way.

In addition to his parents, Hrabar was preceded in death by a long-time best friend, Alton Cade.

He is survived by his children, Racheal Thomas (Christian), Jonathan Hrabar (Tyeler), Kaley Hrabar (Chris Sivalia), Claudia Spagnuolo (Rocco), Chris Hrabar, AJ Hrabar (Jessica); 13 grandchildren, Hadley, Sutton, Nolan, Alexis, Maebree, Kenna, Braydon, Grayson, Bryson, Noah, Kenzie, Penelope, Daphne; five siblings, Karen Baumann (Jeff), Jody Saccoia (Bob), Kim Hrabar, Bruce Hrabar, Joe Hrabar (Luann); two former spouses, Vicky Hrabar and Tammy Babish; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

A Celebration of Life was held June 19 at the Ware County Recreation Department.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Ware County Recreation Department, c/o Ron Hrabar Memorial Fund, 2110 Cecil Brown Drive, 31501 to help underprivileged children participate in sports.
