Patriotic Praise’ at Sweat Memorial Sweat Memorial Baptist Church, 510 W. Blackshear Avenue, presents “Patriotic Praise” Sunday, June 28 during its 10:30 a.m. worship service.

The program will feature a choir and orchestra presentation of “The Battle Hymn of the Republic,” a salute to the armed forces, and will close with soloist Sarah Tatum singing “God Bless America.”

Shiloh MBC holds VBS next week Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, 1701 Martin Luther King Drive, will hold its Vacation Bible School Monday-Thursday, June 29-July 2.

The program, themed “Reigning With Purpose” will be 9 a.m. to noon each day. There will be Bible classes and activities for children and adults.

Church pastor is the Rev. Allen Alonzo Dasher.

First Antioch sets Gospel Festival First Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, 615 Knight Avenue, has scheduled its third annual Gospel Festival at 3 p.m., Sunday July 25.

Pearson church celebrates 250th Pearson Traditional Methodist Church, 54 E. Roberts Avenue, holds an old fashioned USA 250th birthday celebration Sunday, June 28.

The cookout-style lunch in the church social hall will follow the 11 a.m. worship service.

“We’ll observe ‘Old Fashioned Day’ that morning,” said Brother Gary Griffin, church pastor. “Wear your old fashioned Sunday best to worship hour and around noon we’ll have a Fourth of July picnic with hot dogs, hamburgers, side dishes and all the trimmings.”

The church is one short block east of the Atkinson County Courthouse, just off Highway 441 South in Pearson.

River of Life starts resource program River of Life Church, 1439 Brunel Street, offers a community resource center from 10 a.m. to noon, the fourth Friday of each month.

The River Missions program will offer practical life skills, hot meals, clothing and more. Next session is June 26.

Joseph’s Pantry offers giveaway Joseph’s Pantry, a ministry of The Pentacostals of Waycross, offers staples the second and fourth Saturday of each month.

The giveaway is from 9:30 to 11 a.m., June 27. Those accepting items must show a valid ID.

DC Downtown has food ministry DC Downtown Food Ministry offers food items from a 5,000-square foot warehouse at 201 Jenkins Street, from 4 to 6 p.m. on Tuesday and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday.

The ministry serves people from more than a dozen counties in southeast Georgia and north Florida.

Way of Cross EPC has food giveaway Way of the Cross EPC holds a free food and clothing giveaway at 8 a.m. the first Saturday of each month at 512 Lee Avenue.

People should bring a bag or box for items. The first-come, first-served giveaway will next be held July 4.

Items are available from donations by Waycross Food Distributor, Southern Acre Farm, LLC and Charlie’s Chicken.

Men With Power meets 1st Saturday Men With Power meets the first Saturday of each month at Faith Outreach Ministries, 200 Tebeau Street.
