Herrin
FERNANDINA BEACH, Fla. — Mr. Joshua Koley “Kole” Herrin, 21, of Fernandina Beach, Fla., passed away Thursday evening, June 11, 2026, in Fernandina Beach from injuries he sustained in a motorcycle accident.
Born October 17, 2004 in Waycross, Herrin lived in Pierce County all of his life before moving to Fernandina Beach in 2022. He attended Pierce County High School, but graduated from Fernandina Beach High School in 2023.
Herrin was currently working for Milt’s of Amelia A/C & Heating as an HVAC Technician. He enjoyed playing darts and riding buggies and motorcycles. Herrin loved to be on the go and being with his friends and family.
He was of the Baptist faith and attended First Baptist Church – Fernandina. He was dearly loved and will be forever missed by all who knew and loved him.
Herrin is preceded in death by his maternal great grandparents, Arthur (Betty) James and Tommy (Pauline) Smith.
Survivors include his parents, Joshua B. “Josh” Herrin of Blackshear and Brandi Smith of Johnston, S.C.; three sisters, Kirsti Smith and Kenley Joyner both of Johnston, S.C., and Tiffany Padgett of Blackshear; his brother, Dustin Monk of St. Augustine, Fla.; maternal grandparents, Betty Griffin of Blackshear and T.W. (Sheila) Smith of Brantley County; his paternal grandparents, Linda (Bill) Inman of Fernandina Beach and Benny (Erika) Herrin of Blairsville, Ga.; niece and nephews, Kel Lee, Bella Lee and Elijah Monk; his girlfriend and her mother, Grace Mizell and Sylvia Mizell both of Jacksonville Beach, Fla.; his best friend, J.J. Russell of Fernandina Beach; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, and other relatives.
Memorialization will be by cremation.
