Kansas author using Brantley County setting

Kansas author using Brantley County setting

A couple of weeks ago when we were in Oregon, I received a phone call from a lady named Donna Ziegenhorn.

She told me she was doing a follow up book on “Snow White Sands” and asked if she could have permission to use one or more of my Satilla River photos in the book.

I told her where we (family) were at the time and, I would be glad to talk to with her after we got back to Southeast Georgia.

Since then, I have talked with her several times and found out the title of her book will be called “Wiregrass Princess”.

It will be continuing on with the story in “Snow White Sands” where a Royal Couple left a small Spanish Princess behind at Ammons Ferry in Brantley County. It will also be going along with events of that time period.

I asked Donna to tell me a little bit about herself. The child (Emmaline) was her second great grandmother. That’s why she started investigating the story and working on the book.

Donna said if anyone wants to know more about her I could say she is an author, journalist, and a playwright. She also lives in Kansas.

I told her to keep me posted on when the book is completed, because I think there will be a good bit of interest for it here in Brantley County.
