Waycross Bank & Trust is recently announced the appointment of Blackshear resident Taylor Hines to its Board of Directors, bringing with him more than two decades of financial services experience and a longstanding commitment to the local community.

A native of Waycross, Hines’s expertise in financial planning, investment management and business leadership are expected to provide valuable insight as the bank serves the financial needs of customers throughout the Okefenokee region.

“We are honored to welcome Taylor to our Board of Directors,” said Russell L. Bates, President and CEO of Waycross Bank & Trust and a fellow resident of Blackshear. “The combination of his financial background, strong business knowledge and longstanding dedication to our community make him an outstanding addition to our board. We look forward to his perspective and leadership as we continue to grow and serve our customers.”

A Ware County High School graduate, Hines earned his bachelor’s degree from Georgia Southern University in 2000, where he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. He began his career in financial services with Salomon Smith Barney, working in both Atlanta and Athens before returning home to South Georgia. He later served as a financial advisor with HH Burnet and then Dalton & Bennett before founding Hines Capital in 2011 where he continues to serve clients.

Active in various civic, educational and charitable organizations in the community, Hines is a member, former board member, and past president of the Waycross Fishing Club and is active at Waycross First Methodist Church having served on the Finance Committee and Staff-Parish Relations Committee. His involvement also extends to the Waycross Jaycees and Waycross Exchange Club, and he has volunteered with Boy Scout Troop 304 and coaching youth sports through the YMCA.

“It’s a privilege to join the board of directors of Waycross Bank & Trust,” said Hines. “As someone who has spent my life in this community, I appreciate the critical role this bank plays in supporting local families, businesses, and economic growth of our area. I look forward to working alongside the board to help further that mission.”

Hines and his wife, Loni, principal of Memorial Drive Elementary School, reside in Blackshear and have two sons, one at Ware County High School and the other at the University of Georgia.
