The local Blackshear post of AMVETS (American Veterans) invites all who honorably served in the United States military, including the Reserve and Guard, to join.
AMVETS exists to enhance the quality of life for all veterans, their families and survivors. Their motto is “veterans serving veterans.”
Membership in AMVETS is open to anyone who honorably served or is currently serving in the U.S. Armed Forces, including the National Guard and Reserves.

Jackson Gambrell of Blackshear, recently graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Accounting from the College of Charleston in Charleston, SC.
Gambrell was also named to the College of Charleston Spring 2026 dean’s list.
