WAYCROSS — Mrs. Mary Elizabeth McCutchen Parr Murray, 90, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of Thursday, June 11, 2026, at Baptist Village Retirement Communities following an extended illness.

Born April 4, 1936, in Waycross, she was the daughter of the late Legree McCutchen and Annie Barnard McCutchen. Mrs. Murray dedicated more than 20 years of service to Ruben Brothers Shoe Factory. After the factory’s closure, she continued working by cleaning homes throughout the community.

Mrs. Murray was a woman of strong faith and devoted church service. For the past 10 years, she attended Victory Drive Church of God and had previously been a faithful member of Cornerstone Church of God since the 1970s. In recent years, she returned to worship at Cornerstone Church of God. She found great joy in tending her rose gardens, cooking for family and friends, and spending time fishing.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Murray was also preceded in death by her first husband, William Parr; her second husband, Ralph Murray; her son, James Andrew Parr; her brothers, Everette McCutchen and Elton McCutchen; and her sister, Norma Johnson.

She leaves behind a loving family to cherish her memory, including children, Amelia Howell (Larry), Roderick Parr, and Sabrina Griffin (Mike), all of Waycross; grandchildren, Keisha Williams (Brad), Larry Howell, Jr., Dusty James Howell, Heather Williams (Mark), Lee Parr (Leecel), Kerrie Parr, Whitney Powell (Justin), and Sydney Griffin (Brian); five great grandchildren; five greatgreat grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

A funeral service was held June 13 at Music Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed in Kettle Creek Cemetery.
