WAYCROSS — Mrs. Virginia Brannam Wolfe, 97, of Waycross, died Friday morning, June 12, 2026, at her residence after an extended illness.
She was born in Appling County to the late Levy Brannam and Cassie Crosby Brannam. Mrs. Wolfe had made Waycross her home for most of her life. She worked at Reuben Brothers Shoe Factory, and Baptist Village Retirement Communities, where she served as a nursing aide and in housekeeping. She was a member of the Waycross First Church of the Nazarene.
Mrs. Wolfe will forever be remembered for her kind spirit, and one who was good to people and brightened the day of anyone she encountered.
Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Olan E. Wolfe; and two sisters, Leona Courson and Melba Rowland.
Mrs. Wolfe is survived by her son Kim Wolfe and his wife, Linda, of Waycross; her grandson, Shannon Wolfe and his wife, Cassandra, of Waycross; two step-grandsons, Eric and Terry Carver of Waycross; one sister, Cassie Smith of Blackshear; and numerous other relatives.
A graveside service was held June 16 in Kettle Creek Cemetery.
