BLACKSHEAR — Mr. David Alan Springsteen, 60, of Blackshear, died Saturday, June 13, 2026 at Memorial Satilla Health after an extended illness.
He was born in Fort Atkinson, Wisc., to the late Merced M. Flores and Joan Carrol Jaeger. Springsteen had made the Waycross/Blackshear area his home for more than 20 years. He worked as an overnight stocker for Walmart.
Springsteen loved spending time with his family, especially his nieces and nephews. His greatest passion was working in his yard. He was preceded in death by his mother and father-inlaw, Melvin Wilson.
Springsteen is survived by his fiancé, Melinda Wilson of Blackshear; his sister-in-law, Margie Buchanan and her husband, Quentin, of Blackshear; his mother-in-law, Connie Wilson of Blackshear; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, June 18 at the Miles-Odum Funeral Home.
