NAHUNTA — A Brunswick man was injured Friday morning (June 12) when his 2015 Ford F350 was struck by a 1995 CSX locomotive at the Nancy Lane railroad crossing near the Brantley County High School campus at approximatley 8:45 a.m. According to the report of Georgia State Patrol Trooper Dallas Harper, James Carlton Sims, 34 of a Brunswick address, was attempting to cross the railroad track pulling a trailer, failed to yield after stopping at the stop sign. The train, driven by Michael Brandon Lambert, 45, of Charleston, S.C., was headed east and struck the passenger door of the 2015 Ford F350. The vehicle overturned onto the driver’s side and was pushed half a mile. rooper Harper interviewed Sims at Satilla Memorial Hospital, who said he was running late and tried to beat the train across the tracks.
