Colleen Brown Noble, local civic leader and retired educator, passed away Wednesday, June 10. She was 79.
Noble was active in her community serving as chairperson of the Pierce County Martin Luther King Jr. Dreamkeepers Committee for several years. She also served on the Pierce County Board of Elections and Registration and for a time on the Pierce County Library Board.
Noble also was long-time secretary- treasurer of the Lee Street High School All Class Reunion.
She was a retired educator and a long-time faithful member of Fourth Mount Olive Church where she served in several capacities.
Visitation and funeral services are scheduled for this Saturday, June 20, at Fourth Mount Olive Church on Yeomans Street, Blackshear. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. with the service to follow at 11 a.m.

Colleen Brown Noble, 79, of Blackshear, passed away peacefully Wednesday, June 10, 2026.
Born October 30, 1946 to John and Lula Brown, she was a devoted member of Fourth Mount Olive Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, John Brown Jr. and by her sisters, Barbara Leaphart and Annette Farley.
Survivors include her daughter, Stephanie Holsey (Alvin); her grandsons, Joshua (Ashley)and Jordan; her brother, William Brown (Margo) and her sisters, Madeleine White and Ethel Lambert (Ron).
Viewing will be from 911 a.m. Saturday, June 20, at Fourth Mount Olive Church, Yeomans Street, Blackshear.
Services to honor her life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 20, from the Fourth Mt. Olive Church in Blackshear.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Fourth Mount Olive Church Building Fund, 900 Yeomans Street, Blackshear.
