New recreation complex: Recreation Director Maureen Brown announced Carter and Sloope Architects of Macon are to present plans for the proposed new recreation complex on County Farm Road and the renovations at the Ware Street Park at the July board meeting. The project has been at a stand still since last June after an initial proposal came in at $17.86 million. Revisions to the construction plans have been underway since that time.
Update on Tiger
Field project: Bids on the Tiger Field project were re-bid for a second time and are slated to be opened June 16. The work will include field and lighting improvements, re-paving of the track and additional parking at the facility. The county received a $343,000 Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF) Matching Grant for the work. Additional improvements will put the final price tag at just over $1 million. Director Brown also reported bids are scheduled to be opened June 25 for paving at the Yeomans and Ware Street parking lots.
