The Pierce County Commission approved updating its business license fees.
Commissioners approved across the board increases, in the first revision to the fees since 1995.
The new fees are for business, alcohol and beer and wine licenses.
Business license fees for businesses with 0-4 employees will increase from $150 to $250. Businesses with 5-9 employees will go from $250 to $400 and those with 10 or more employees will go from $450 to $850.
Beer and wine licenses for pouring will go from $850 to $1,250, retail will increase from $650 to $1,000 and wholesale would go from $450 to $700.
Alcohol pouring licenses will increase from $1,550 to $2,400.
Administrative fees for new licenses will increase from $25 to $50, renewals will go from $15 to $40 and late renewal fees will increase from $50 to $100.
Special event letters currently are free, but under the new fee schedule, the cost will be $300.
The new fees will be effective immediately.
