Early voting for runoffs ends Friday

Early voting for next week’s General Primary runoffs continues through Friday at the Ware County Board of Elections and Registration office, 408 Tebeau Street.

Eligible voters can cast a ballot for the runoffs, which will be Tuesday, June 16, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Friday, June 12. Early voting began Monday, June 8.

Voting will be from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at 13 county locations the day of the runoffs. You did not have to cast a ballot for the May 19 General Primary to be eligible to vote in the runoffs.

Ware County voters have no local races to consider, but seven for national and statewide seats.

Atop the list of runoffs for state and national office is the Republican nomination for governor between Burt Jones and Rick Jackson. Jones, the current Lt. Governor, led the primary voting.

The winner will face former Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms in the General Election, Tuesday November 3. Bottoms easily won the Democrat nomination.

Sample ballots appear on Page 7A of today’s Journal-Herald.
