First Flight Georgia has scheduled its 2026 event in Waycross from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 20 at the Waycross–Ware County Airport, 3098 Keen Road.
Youth ages 8-19 are eligible to participate in the statewide program that introduces them to aviation through free introductory flights and hands-on exposure to aviation careers with input from pilots and others involved in the field of flight.
This is the non-profit group’s fifth annual edition of First Flight Waycross, which welcomes families to make a day of experiencing flight.
First Flight GA is a statewide nonprofit that introduces young people to aviation through free introductory flights and hands-on exposure to aviation careers. Free flights for youth ages 8 to 19 will be available as well as plane tours and a chance to operate a flight simulator.

The group also is taking applications for its annual Flight Training Scholarship in partnership with Frontline Aviation. The scholarship provides a local student with paid flight training hours and a pathway into aviation.
